Microsoft has officially launched Windows 8.Users can download Windows 8 Pro for Rs 1,999, which is a part of Microsoft’s special offer that will stand for a limited period.
Users who have purchased PCs or Laptops after June 2 running Windows 7 will be eligible for an update to Windows 8 for Rs 699. Microsoft will also offer Windows 8 in DVD for approximated Rs 3,800.
With Windows 8 there are only three versions – Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 (which will only be available via pre-installed on PCs till February 1, 2013) and Windows RT, a version of Windows that is tailored for systems running ARM processors. Users can download Windows 8 Pro from here.
Will Windows 8 be a hit is anybody’s guess as it has opened to a mixed reaction.

Bloomberg reported that Microsoft will finish work on Windows 8 this summer, setting the stage for personal computers and tablets with the operating system to go on sale around October, according to people with knowledge of the schedule.
Now this is one launch many are waiting for as Windows 8 is launching on three platforms Desktops,Tablets and Mobiles.
